ST. MARY’S QUILTERS

St. Mary’s quilters’ group was organized in February of 1994 by Patricia Nugent, along with Irene Gale, Marsha Womersley, Robin White, Betty Kinsella, Nancy Clark, Marie Shields, Winona Bols, Charlotte McHugh, and Donna McClintock.

We meet each Tuesday morning after 8:30 AM mass to quilt, visit, and have coffee and goodies in Parish Center. Every now and then we tour quilt shops or go out to lunch.

Our goal is to make a quilt to be raffled each year at our annual Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner in March. We usually make another quilted project to supplement the quilt raffle. The proceeds from the raffle are used to purchase supplies for the next quilt and to purchase needed items for St. Mary’s.

Some previous donations we have made:

a beautiful Altar cloth (Fr. Frank chose this)

bibles for RE students

red and green scarves

a can opener

high chairs, booster seats, and card tables and chairs

a wine decanter and cloths for the wine servers

candle lighters

vacuum cleaners

the shelf for the infant of Prague statue

money for 2 new animals for the outside cre’che

 a convection oven

money to repair the Eternal light which hangs above the altar

In addition to this, Betty Kinsella made the large banner that hangs in the church and the CCW banner that is in the basement.
