Mass Coordinator

WHAT YOU DO:
You create a quiet, distraction-free environment so our parish family can pray. You arrive early to open the church, turn on lights, and prepare the sanctuary with the items for Mass. Afterward, you reverently clean and secure the sacred items. You are preparing the sanctuary for the Priest to pray Mass.
WHO CAN SERVE:
Organized, detail-oriented adults and mature teens who appreciate a quiet, prayerful role behind the scenes.
COMMITMENT:
* Arrive 35 minutes before Mass; stay 15 minutes after.
* Scheduled roughly 1-2 times per month.
* Full training is provided.
Lector
Minister of the Word
"Lend your voice to God. Proclaim His living Word."
WHAT YOU DO:
You bring Sacred Scripture to life! After practicing the readings at home during the week, you process into Mass with the Book of the Gospels and clearly proclaim the First and Second Readings from the ambo to the congregation. For some Masses, you also lead the Responsorial Psalm.
WHO CAN SERVE:
Confirmed, practicing Catholics (youth or adult) with strong reading skills and a comfort level speaking in front of large groups.
COMMITMENT:
* 30 minutes of prayer and practice at home during the week.
* Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled Mass.
* Scheduled roughly 1-2 times per month.
* Full training is provided
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC)
"Feed the faithful. Become the hands that share Christ."
WHAT YOU DO:
You fulfill a deeply sacred role by distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to your fellow parishioners during the Communion procession.
WHO CAN SERVE:
Practicing, Confirmed Catholics in good standing with the Church who hold a deep reverence and love for the Blessed Sacrament.
COMMITMENT:
* No weekday preparation required.
* Scheduled roughly 1-2 times per month.
* Full training is provided
Usher
Minister of Hospitality
"Be the first face of Christ. Welcome our family home."
WHAT YOU DO:
You set the tone for the entire Liturgy! You help families find seats, as needed, pass the collection baskets, guide the Communion lines, and check and straighten the sanctuary for the next Mass.
WHO CAN SERVE:
Friendly extroverts, singles, couples, and entire families! This is a fantastic ministry for parents and children to do together.
COMMITMENT:
* Arrive 25 minutes before Mass to welcome early guests.
* Stay 10 minutes after Mass to tidy up the pews.
* Scheduled roughly 1-2 times per month.
Altar Server
Minister of the Altar
"Stand at the altar. Step closer to the mystery."
WHAT YOU DO:
You actively keep the rhythm and beauty of the Mass moving smoothly. You wear holy vestments, carry the cross or candles in the processions, hold the prayer book for the priest, and help prepare the altar at the Offertory. You are assisting the priest as he prays the Mass.
WHO CAN SERVE:
Boys and girls (typically starting in 3rd or 4th grade) who have made their First Holy Communion. High school youth and adults are also highly welcome! We have adult servers who assist with the Adoration Masses.
COMMITMENT:
* No weekday preparation.
* Arrive 20 minutes before Mass to vest and pray with the priest.
* Scheduled roughly 1-2 times per month.
* Full training is provided
Funeral Mass Coordinator
A Ministry of Consolation
"Walk with those who mourn—help bring peace and order to a sacred farewell."
WHAT YOU DO:
You serve as a beacon of hope and compassion! You arrive early to open the church, prepare the sanctuary, and light the Paschal candle. You greet the grieving family, coordinate with the funeral home director, and assist the priest so that the Funeral Mass flows seamlessly and reverently.
WHO CAN SERVE:
Compassionate, calm, and organized adults (often retirees or individuals with flexible schedules) who have a heart for comforting those who mourn.
COMMITMENT:
* You can accept or decline dates based on your personal availability.
* Arrive 45 minutes before the funeral; stay 15 minutes after.
* Full training is provided.
Wedding Coordinator
A Ministry of Joy
"Celebrate holy matrimony by guiding couples through the rehearsal and bringing peace and order to their joyful wedding day."
WHAT YOU DO:
You ensure the couple's big day is both joyful and deeply reverent! On the rehearsal night, you guide the wedding party through the pacing, seating, and procession. On the wedding day, you arrive early to open the church, welcome guests, cue the wedding party, and support the priest so everything runs smoothly.
WHO CAN SERVE:
Organized, welcoming, and detail-oriented adults who can remain calm under pressure and love helping couples enter into a sacred lifelong covenant.
COMMITMENT:
* Typically 1.5 hours on Friday evening (Rehearsal) and 2 to 2.5 hours on Saturday (Ceremony).
* Scheduled on a rotating, as-available basis.
* Comprehensive training alongside an experienced coordinator is provided.
